Gerald, would Section 3 in the cs2 28th be what you hav in mind. Only natural citizens who can vote can contribute or expend money to influence political campaigns.

WOW, I am in disbelief that there are SO many people out there that care about this issue and yet likely the majority have NO idea that there is a 2012 Presidential Candidate running and revolving his entire campaign on this issue alone!
His name is Buddy Roemer, former Gov. of Louisiana, 4 term Congressman under Reagan, and a founder, President & CEO of a community bank in Louisiana called Business First that has $650 million in capital, received ZERO BAILOUT money, and restructured loans to maintain ZERO FORECLOSURES.
He's running Independently on www.AmericansElect.org to gain ballot access in 50 states and the principal of his campaign is only accepting $100 max donations - hence why he has been covered very minimally by the media and press. Grassroots for the greater good of America! Feel free to YouTube his visits on MSNBC, Melissa Perry Harris Show, Colbert Report and the YouTube channel BuddyRoemerVids to better inform yourself along with visiting his main website, BuddyRoemer.com. He is very active on Facebook and Twitter as well!

America isn't #1 anymore. Everyone could use a Buddy.

The main constitutional reason the Supreme Court is able to strike down campaign financial laws is that there is no constitutionally-protected right to vote--only constitutional rights not to be denied the right to vote on account of race, gender, and age (if the age of 18 is attained). If, by constitutional amendment, voting of actual persons were elevated to constitutional protection, regulation of political campaigns designed to protect indivdual voting would keep the high court from protecting campaign expenditures from corporations and other groups who are not actual persons who can vote. Such an amendment would require the Court to "strickly scrutinize" any law that might limit or undermine the constitutionally guaranteed voting rights of only those who can actually vote as actual persons. I have the precise wording in mind of such a constitutional amendment. The beauty of such an amendment would be that even Republican members of the House would have a hard time explaining why they wouldn't support a right-to-vote-for-actual-persons amendment.

There are, as most of us know, many and varied efforts to end child prostitution, the economic enslavement of foreign and minority workers, the white slave trade in many countries and many other forms of systematic exploitation of segments of the human race. The petition offered here by Get Money Out (of our democratic process) offers another and even more critical effort to end a form of prostitution. We have to end the practice of the corporations forcing our elected representatives to prostitute themselves so completely that they are little more than well heeled street walkers. By signing this petition we are taking an important stance in the war against the forced sex slave trade. Lets all remove the corporate pimps (the lobbyists) from the halls of congress. No person should be required to get in bed with a diseased, mentally ill and dangerous (corporate) person because they sought to serve their country in a public elected office. End governmental prostitution now!

How about we use our numbers and push candidates to take a Norquist-type pledge that they promise to push and vote for anti-lobbying/anti-corporate personhood legislation? Let's take a play out of the Tea-party's book, and get some people elected that will create an anti-lobbyist bastion in the house.

I hear Iceland has some pretty good ideas.......I'm sure we can apply their approach to debt to our political playground. Maybe we should pay more attention to their approach overall........:)

The Republican strategy seems to be to attack Pres. Obama on areas that they are weak on hoping to disarm any attack. The way to answer this is not to argue the point but to simply say "I'm glad you brought that up." And then point out the obvious points that the president is strong on. Stop all of their games. We are on the right side, let's sell it!

It very rare to find any one thing as the root of all anything, but in this case, I think it is safe to say that money is the root of all evil in politics. For years, lobbyists have bought the legislators with campaign contributions, and now that the Supreme Court has declared that corporations are people, too, they won't even need to pay the middlemen anymore. By my lights, we actually need two types of reforms. One, a complete reform of campaign finance regulations, so that the 1% doesn't get to buy the elections any longer and two, a complete reform of the financial sector, so that we have a banking system that serves the people instead of sucking the lifeblood from the economy.

It is imparative that the political process be be protected. Money tends to discianoenfranchise a large portion of the voting population.Under that kind of environment extremism tends to prevail. The Tea Party Movement and the Super Pacs are a clear repersention of what money can do. The contrived movements designed to manipulate thoughts through fear and false information are like a cancer. These are attempts to consolidate power in the hands of the few, at the expense of the many. That is not Democracy. There is no moral equavalince between a lie and the truth. The trurh can not be conjured up. To get to it requires engagement, not a trust in some special interest. We are told that the " the truth will set us free", But when we are surrounded by liars, and wolves in sheep's clothing, to decern the truth requires engagement.

We are told repeatedly that the wars we fight are the reason for our security, but we know that they are only for the benefit for the Military Industrial Complex, with little concern for those who suffer the consequences. The facts are, that America is the product of great social movements, lead by passionate Americans who believed we could do better by being more inclusive, more compasssinate, and more benevolent. These Americans are the real heroes, and all of us stand on thier shoulders. So Dylan, keep up the good fight for what is just.
